The Boston Celtics posted a huge win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, as they improve to 2-0 in their first-round playoffs matchup. Following the game, C's head coach Brad Stevens credited the pivotal contribution provided by the team's second unit towards the lopsided victory.

According to Stevens, he relied on his bench in this game more than he had earlier anticipated, which speaks volumes of how the tremendous the second unit played on the evening:

“Our bench really took a game that was not going our way and changed it,” Stevens said, via John Karalis of Mass Live. “I just thought it was much tougher as far as every possession was more challenged… I never would have thought we would stay with that group in the second quarter that long, but to their credit I couldn’t take them out.”

The second and third quarters proved to be the deciding periods in Wednesday's contest, with the Celtics outscoring their opponents 71-42 during that span. They amassed an insurmountable lead and never looked back.

Celtics star Kemba Walker echoed his coach's thoughts, heaping praise on Boston's second unit:

“The bench came in and they were unreal,” Walker said. “That’s what we needed. The game’s not always going to be perfect all the time, but we had no quit in us, and the bench came in and they sparked us.”

The game ended with a final score of 128-101 in favor of Boston. The C's now have a huge 2-0 advantage in the series, and will look to make it three straight wins on Friday when they face the Sixers in Game 3 of what is quickly turning out to be a one-sided series.
