The Boston Celtics have agreed to re-sign big man Daniel Theis on a two-year contract worth $10 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Theis is coming off a 2018-19 campaign in which he played 66 games and averaged 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds over 13.8 minutes per game while shooting 54.9 percent from the floor, 38.8 percent from 3-point range and 73.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The 27-year-old, who is from Germany, signed with the Celtics during the summer of 2017.

He went on to appear in 63 contests during his rookie year, registering 5.3 points and 4.3 boards across 14.9 minutes a night while making 54.1 percent of his field goal attempts, 31 percent of his long-distance tries and 75.3 percent of his foul shots. However, he suffered a tore meniscus during the second half of the year, knocking him out for the remainder of the season and the playoffs.

Theis represents the Celtics' third frontcourt deal of the summer after trading Aron Baynes to the Phoenix Suns and then losing Al Horford to the Philadelphia 76ers.

First, Boston nabbed Enes Kanter on a two-year deal with a player option for the second year on Monday, and earlier on Tuesday, the C's agreed with French big man Vincent Poirier on a two-year pact.

The Celtics are obviously also hoping for a step forward from second-year big Robert Williams, who was impressive in limited minutes during his rookie campaign this past season. Boston also drafted power forward Grant Williams late last month.

The C's won 49 games in what was a very disappointing 2018-19 campaign and were knocked out of the second round of the playoffs.
