It looks like that Instagram post from Gordon Hayward's wife was no fluke.

Hayward appears to be officially on the mend from a horrific leg injury on opening night that more than likely cost him the season. Boston Celtics general manger Danny Ainge gave quite the positive update about Hayward's rehab to radio hosts Toucher and Rich on Thursday.

In the original Instagram post, Gordon Hayward was seated with his daughter at the computer and was shown without any type of walking boot whatsoever. But it wasn't clear whether or not that was just a temporary situation because he was relaxing at home with his family.

But now with the update from Ainge, it looks like the Celtics star will soon make a huge step in his recovery process after just seven weeks removed from surgery.

This by no means indicates that Gordon Hayward will somehow make a return this season. A variety of things have to break right in order for that to happen.

But if Hayward can walk freely in only two more weeks, that paves the way for him to possibly be back to his old self sooner rather than later. It could be the first of those many things that break right for him and the Celtics.

Only time will tell.
