The scorching hot Boston Celtics take their six-game winning streak into Toronto on Monday night to face the Raptors on the tail-end of a back-to-back. Ime Udoka’s squad is coming off a 134-112 smacking of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday behind a 34-point performance from Jayson Tatum, who continues to show out. While he is unavailable here for a rest day, is Jaylen Brown playing vs Raptors?
Is Jaylen Brown vs Raptors
The answer is no, Brown will also be sidelined for this contest due to right knee soreness after playing 34 minutes on Sunday. Per Chris Forsberg:
Celtics say Jaylen Brown (right knee tendinopathy), Al Horford (personal reasons), Jayson Tatum (right patella tendinopathy), and Robert Williams (left knee lateral meniscal tear) are all OUT vs. Toronto.

The Celtics star was terrific against the Timberwolves, pouring in 31 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds. In fact, Brown has dropped 30+ in three of his last five outings for Boston, who are now in first place in the East. They were handed a devastating blow, however, with defensive standout Robert Williams suffering a torn meniscus which is set to keep him out for the distant future.
Nonetheless, the C’s are still dangerous. They’ve literally gone from 11th place to top dog in a matter of 3.5 months, a testament to Udoka’s ability to instill his brilliance into this Celtics squad.
Brown meanwhile, missed time earlier in the year because of a hamstring injury but he’s still suited up in 60 games in 2021-22, averaging 23.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per night. Alongside Tatum, they form one of the most electric duos in the Association.
With both players on the shelf vs. Toronto, the likes of Payton Pritchard, Grant Williams, Derrick White, and Marcus Smart will see an increased run. The Celtics don’t play again until Wednesday, therefore Brown should be ready to go again by then at home against the Heat.
So to answer the question, is Jaylen Brown playing tonight? The answer is no.
