Boston Celtics stud Jaylen Brown appears to be closing in on a lucrative new deal with the C's. Recently, the 22-year-old confirmed that he is already engaged in talks for an extension with the Celtics.

According to Brown, though, he understands how Boston operates in terms of offering new deals to their players, which is why he himself is in no hurry to finalize an extension.

“I’ve been able to watch these guys for three years,” Brown told Brian Robb of the BostonSportsJournal.com. “They have their process. They like to take their time. There is no rush at all. I don't know if they feel rushed. I hope they don't. There is no rush. They will figure it out or not figure it out. Either way is fine with me.”

Brown is entering the new season with just one year remaining on his current deal. Boston are actually in danger of losing the services of this very promising young man, if they allow him to enter free agency next summer. The Celtics front office appeared to have assessed their situation, and have decided that it would be in their best interest to sign Brown to a potential extension.

As he expressed above, though, Brown appears to be very calm and collected when it comes to his new deal. He is certainly in no rush to put pen to paper on a multi-million dollar extension with the team that drafted him third overall in 2016. Such is Brown's belief in himself and his potential, that he is not losing sleep on what he believes to be an eventuality.
