Jayson Tatum had quite a performance on Friday, as he helped the Boston Celtics to an amazing Game 7 series-clinching victory over the Toronto Raptors. In the process, Tatum matched a long-standing statistical record that was held by none other than the late, great Kobe Bryant.

Tatum finished Friday's contest with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists, which turned out to be a Game 7 feat held by Tatum's own idol and mentor – Kobe Bryant:

The lights were the brightest on Friday, and Tatum stepped it up for Boston when it mattered most. The 6-foot-8 forward did not exactly have a stellar night from the field in this one, going 9-of-23 from the floor. He did go 4-of-8 from distance and 7-of-10 from the line, though. Most importantly, he led his team to a huge win over a resilient Raptors side.

It was Fred VanVleet who led the charge for the defending champs in Game 7, going for a team-high 20 points on 8-of-20 shooting, with three rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Pascal Siakam failed to come out with a superstar-like Game 7 performance, logging just 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting.

The Celtics have now advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals after an epic seven-game series against Toronto. They have now earned the right to face the Miami Heat in the next round, who themselves have been very impressive in the playoffs. The East has gotten as wide open as it has ever been in the past few years, with these two dark horse sides just one step away from booking an historic trip to the NBA Finals.

If Jayson Tatum can come up big every game like this one, the Heat might have a problem.
