After the Boston Celtics' season came to a disappointing end on Sunday, the team is now looking toward what's ahead. Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart are leading the way in this respect, with the two stars already talking about what the future holds for the Cs.

According to Smart, there's nowhere else to go from here but up. He expressed his belief that the most important thing is for the Celtics to be able to channel their playoff disappointment to come out as a better group in 2020-21.

“We got to use this fuel to fuel us to come back stronger, better, mentally, physically, emotionally, psychologically, all of it,” Marcus Smart said, via NBA.com. “We’ve got to use it to our advantage to come back. It’s over. We can’t change the past. We can only get ready for the future.”

For Tatum, it's all about seeing the silver lining. While the season ultimately ended in another heartbreak for the Celtics, there's no denying that they made significant strides yet again in the recently concluded campaign.

“I believe in this group. I think we were capable. We had more than enough to get the job done. We just let a couple slip away,” Jayson Tatum explained. “A lot of guys got so much better this year and throughout the season, so much better from last season. So just to see guys continue to grow and get better, it’s a lot of fun. It was fun this year.”

For his part, Tatum is in for a huge extension this offseason. Rumor has it that the Celtics will be offering him a max extension to lock him up for the foreseeable future.

Based on what fans have seen from him in the previous campaign, there's no doubt that he absolutely deserves that money.
