The Boston Celtics are gonna get busy in the coming days after a surprising move that promoted Brad Stevens to the role of president of basketball operations. The former tactician replaced Danny Ainge, who finally stepped down after years of hinting at it.

One of the main agendas of the Celtics is to find a new coach to replace Stevens. Many names are being floated around and rumoredly, even former Celtics swingman Evan Turner, who is currently an assistant coach, is one of them. He clarified though that all the whispers are false, prompting Jayson Tatum to post a rather dejected reaction.

Tatum, who had a breakout season, might very well be just being sarcastic. Because Turner, who's known to crack jokes, as the Celtics' next coach sounds quite ridiculous at this point. Sure, Turner was a high basketball IQ player and a respected locker room guy, but clearly, he doesn't have the experience yet. Turner played for the Celtics from 2014 to 2016.

But for what it's worth, it seems he already has the respect of Tatum, and for any aspiring coach, getting the trust of the team's star player is pretty huge. It seems Tatum is also already keen on preparing for next season, and the Celtics finding a new coach sooner than later would surely help.

According to reports, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, and Lloyd Pierce are in the running for the Celtics job. It remains to be seen how Jayson Tatum will be involved in the search, but for sure, he will be consulted. Maybe he can throw in Evan Turner's name in the mix.
