Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was not surprised to see Tacko Fall just behind him in the vote count for the 2020 Eastern Conference All-Star roster.

For those who don't know, Fall is a 7-5 center who is currently playing on a two-way contract with the Celtics and their G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. The 24-year-old native of Senegal is becoming something like a cult hero among basketball fans, as he's one of the tallest NBA players in recent history. In fact, when he checked in for the Celtics for the first time earlier this season, he received a standing ovation from the crowd:

Fall isn't just a tall basketball player, though. He's a talented defender, sending back shots with relative ease. In his 11 appearances with the Red Claws this season (one start), he's racked up averages of 14.1 points on 69.1 percent shooting, 10.9 rebounds and an impressive 2.8 blocks.

“No,” Tatum told Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports when asked if he was surprised that Fall was just behind him in All-Star voting. “Tacko got a standing ovation at Madison Square Garden. Tacko the goat.”

Whether or not Fall will remain on the list for this season's All-Stars remains to be seen. Either way, it's nice to see the Celtics big man's popularity with fans rising.

Tatum and the Celtics will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Atlanta Hawks. Tip-off inside TD Garden is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
