Kevin Garnett won't make much of Anthony Davis' father speaking his mind and revealing his repugnance for the Boston Celtics in light of the Isaiah Thomas situation, but while he understands the reasoning, he would love for The Brow to reach out and talk to president Danny Ainge:

“He had his opinion and he voiced it,” Garnett said of Davis Sr., according to Alex Wong of Yahoo Canada Sports. “However they do it in Anthony Davis’s camp, as far as picking a landing spot, family is always going to be passionate. That’s his father and he wants his son to be in the best situation that he can be professionally and he wants his son to win. He wants him to be in an environment where it feels like his son is being supported. Anybody who is a parent would understand him standing up for his son and wanting him to be in a better situation.”

Garnett instead was hoping Davis would be open to getting to talking to Ainge, though the anti-tampering laws of the NBA would forbid such contact unless Davis was a free agent:

“What I would love is if he actually talked to Danny, and knew what kind of individual and human being he is,” said Garnett, who played for the Celtics in the latter years of his career, getting to know the executive on a first-name basis. “Danny is the No. 1 family guy. I know his dad feels passionate, but I’m sure Danny had his reasoning as to why things were how they were with Isaiah. A lot of people have to understand this is a business. Organizations are always going to do what they feel is best for the organization, and players should think the same.”

Davis has since cleared up that the Celtics are very much on his shortlist of teams that he'd consider, giving Boston fans a glimmer of hope, considering the ensuing sweepstakes that will come forth in the summer, once the New Orleans Pelicans can resume trade talks with teams interested in acquiring their talisman forward.
