This year's NBA offseason did not disappoint, as the league saw several big-name free agents skip town for more money and greener pastures. With so much player movement, it will be interesting to see how certain teams fare with more firepower on their roster.

No playoff team from last season saw more roster turnover than the Boston Celtics. After making it to the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2017 NBA playoffs, the Celtics went out on a spree this offseason, acquiring Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving. It has been reported that Irving's trade request came as a result of the point guard wanting to carve out a bigger role for himself after playing behind LeBron James.

And according to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, Irving was also bothered by being passed by when it comes to the more pressing political and social issues. Instead, it was LeBron James, again, whom reporters gravitated towards for his opinion on those matters.

James has been known to actively voice his opinion on current issues due to his large platform. As a star in the NBA himself, Kyrie Irving has enough clout and influence to spark conversations and should find no trouble grabbing media attention in Boston.

Irving's perception on this non-basketball aspect only reinforces the idea that he was unsatisfied with his sidekick role in Cleveland, but he will now have a chance to make his mark on a different team. The Celtics have reloaded their roster and all signs point to them immediately challenging the Cavaliers.
