While the Boston Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 2 even without Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown admitted they need the Defensive Player of the Year back as soon as possible.

Smart missed Tuesday's game due to a thigh contusion, with head coach Ime Udoka saying that the guard is in pain and very limited in his movement. The Celtics were still able to overcome the Bucks 109-86 behind their tight defense and the brilliant play of Brown; however, the veteran swingman himself knows things won't always work out in their favor.

“This series is gonna get real grimy and dirty and nasty. And we need Marcus to do what he does best,” Brown said, per Jay King of The Athletic.

Jaylen Brown certainly couldn't have said it any better. Sure, they dominated Game 2, but it should be remembered they were the ones on the receiving end of a huge blowout in Game 1.

Simply put, given the talent in the Eastern Conference Semifinals series, things could swing on either way. With that said, the Celtics need to always be at their best if they want to keep the momentum going on their side.

Having Marcus Smart should only help them increase their chances of unleashing their best play in every game. That is even more crucial as the series now shifts to Milwaukee for Games 3 and 4.
