Boston Celtics star Gordon Hayward is coming back this season.

Just kidding.

Actually, the team announced recently that if the Celtics made the Eastern Conference finals, Hayward will definitely play.

Also kidding.

OK, for real this time. Hayward is progressing well in his rehabilitation, and let his fans and the world know in a video via his official Twitter account. In the video, which is just over 30 seconds long, Hayward is picking up small marbles with his toes and putting them in a bin one by one.

The foot he's using is the same one he injured in the first game of the season. Peep the video below.

For most people, pickup up marbles with your toes would be a relatively easy task. It's unclear how easy because it's difficult to say how many people have actually tried it while bored on a Friday night after their plans changed with boy or girl they were supposed to go out with — but didn't — because they're actually into their friend.

But for someone rehabbing from an ankle or Achilles injury, it's a step that a player has to reach, and make sure they can hit a certain mark. In the video, you can hear someone saying it took Hayward more than four minutes to do it when he started. Now, it's down to 23 seconds.

So it's clear that Hayward is getting closer to taking the basketball court again. Just how close is impossible to say. None of us are doctors.

But Celtics and NBA fans should be encouraged by the progress Hayward is showing all of them on his social media channels.
