The NFL season is here! Well, preseason, but still NFL football is being played. The Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins face off on Saturday, and there are storylines galore and names to watch from each side, but primarily Chicago as we make our Bears predictions.

The Bears selected Justin Fields, former Ohio State Buckeyes star, and have pegged him as the quarterback of the future. However, prior to that, they had brought in Andy Dalton, and head coach Matt Nagy has all but engaged in a quarterback battle between the two.

While preseason football might not be all that exciting, it is still football and everybody has been waiting a long time to catch a glimpse of Justin Fields. So, let's examine four bold Chicago Bears predictions in their opener against Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins on Saturday.

Bears Preseason Week 1 Predictions

4. Andy Dalton Impresses

This is literally the worst-case scenario for Nagy and the Bears. In all honesty, they want Fields to take the job, or at least they should. If Dalton comes out and plays well, then the questions remain even longer, and the Bears might feel inclined to play Dalton, especially after inking him to a pretty hefty free agency deal.

Dalton didn't play badly last season for the Dallas Cowboys, and the veteran could be the perfect bridge quarterback until Fields is absolutely ready to take over the job. Still, Bears fans want to see Fields, so Dalton playing well might not be the best thing in that regard.

3. Justin Fields struggles early

How many times have we seen rookie quarterbacks come out and struggle in their NFL debut?

Unfortunately, Fields has more pressure on him than any of the other rookie quarterbacks, except for maybe Mac Jones with the New England Patriots. For that reason, he might come out and press a little too much, squeeze passes too tight, and just struggle overall.

The plan is for Dalton to start, but expect a lot of playing time for Fields.

It isn't ideal, and it would only complicate Matt Nagy's brain as far as the decision goes. But, this is preseason, and the first game at that, so don't be ready to jump ship yet. After all, there is a reason Fields was highly touted out of Ohio State.

2. Bears unleash Nick Foles

Oh, yes, don't forget about Nick Foles. The Indianapolis Colts were one team rumored to Foles, and there could be a possibility that the Bears decide to toss Foles out there to garner some trade interest in the veteran. At this point, he is the third-string QB in Chicago, which isn't going to change anytime soon.

Frankly, there aren't many teams at all that are interested in acquiring a quarterback, but the Bears might as well try to boost his stock a bit. Preseason is the perfect opportunity for him to go out there and make some plays.

1. Young Bears receivers show out

Even with the interesting situation regarding the Bears' quarterbacks, expect a couple of the Chicago wideouts to have impressive performances.

Allen Robinson is entrenched as the man out wide, obviously. After that, it is a bit of a toss-up. Damiere Byrd came over from New England, and the Bears also have Darnell Mooney, who had a strong rookie campaign.

Then there is Dazz Newsome and Riley Ridley, among others, but it will be worth monitoring the Bears' pass-catchers as they look to find a true No. 3 receiver.

Who will show out as Quez Watkins did for the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday?
