In a much-anticipated affair between two former NFL MVPs, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson finally had the last laugh over Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Jackson has never won against Mahomes in their previous three meetings, but he finally did on Sunday—and in stunning fashion at that, making the game-winning touchdown by flipping into the end zone. It was his second scoring TD in the thrilling tiff.

Usually, it's Mahomes who makes the clutch plays, but not this time. He also committed an embarrassing interception in the third quarter, as his pass got picked by Ravens cornerback Tavon Young. After the game, Mahomes, the 2019 NFL MVP, didn't blame anyone but himself as he sounded off on the rare error (via ESPN).

“It's probably one of the worst interceptions I've probably ever had.”

Young's play set up the Ravens for Jackson's first touchdown run. From there, the 2018 NFL MVP built more confidence in leading his squad against the Chiefs.

Mahomes, who turned 26 years old last week, has always been a picture of poise for the Chiefs. Even in last season's Super Bowl, he stayed composed despite being pummeled by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's why Mahomes' blunder against the Ravens got a bit magnified because it doesn't happen often.

Mahomes and Jackson had a memorable battle, with the former finishing with 24-of-31 for 343 yards and three TDs and the latter tallying 18-of-26 for 239 yards and three TDs.

Patrick Mahomes will look to lead the Chiefs back into the win column on Sunday when they host the Los Angeles Chargers.
