It hasn't even been 48 basketball minutes since his season tipped off and Paul George memes have already taken over Twitter. The Los Angeles Clippers forward has been at the receiving end of a ton of criticism and jokes over the past few months and was hoping to start anew this term as he suits up for the Clips for his second season.
Unluckily for him (and luckily for all of us keyboard warriors), George had a huge blunder on opening night that's been one of the funnier headlines to come out of their season debut against the 2020 champions, the Los Angeles Lakers.
Late in the first quarter, Paul George capped off a transition play with one heck of a dime – to the referee. After the laughable turnover, the internet did its job and took over.

In all fairness to Paul George, the ref was in a perfect position for a corner triple.
Fortunately, the six-time All-Star was able to shake off that lowlight and still put up incredible numbers in his 2020-21 debut. As expected, George came out swinging and was the main gunner for L.A. from tip off, as he led the Clippers to a huge win over the defending champs.

The internet just loves mistakes and Paul George certainly knows this. Even if the Clippers star erupted for 50, this will be the play that will be shared on social media the most.
