Ex-NBA player Richard Jefferson, who is now embarking on a broadcasting career, just declared Lou Williams of the Los Angeles Clippers as the Sixth Man of the Year.

Per Michael Scotto, after the two-time (and reigning) recipient of the award hit the game-winning 3-pointer over the Brooklyn Nets, Jefferson heralded the 32-year-old as the best player to come off the bench in the entire NBA… yet again.

In the event that Williams takes home the Sixth Man of the Year trophy this year, he'll be the first player to win it in back-to-back seasons. It will also create a tie with Jamal Crawford of the Phoenix Suns as the only three-time winners.

The 6-foot-1 guard finished with 25 points and six rebounds across 27 minutes. He was 8-of-16 from the field and perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

Williams is one-half of the Clippers' bench mob alongside Montrezl Harrell. For the season, he has suited up for 65 games and is averaging 20.4 points per game, 5.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds.

While most NBA players crave to be part of the starting five, Williams is more than content in his bench role. In fact, this is where he's made a living his entire NBA career. Without a doubt, he'll go down as one of the best leaders of the second unit. And there's no shame in that.
