Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George is no stranger to injuries this 2019-20 NBA season. Fortunately, it seems he managed to dodge a bullet against the San Antonio Spurs.

George was seen taking a gruesome elbow to the face from shooting guard DeMar DeRozan midway through the third quarter of Monday's contest, via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints:

George was forced to exit back to the locker room for a brief moment to tend to a bloody nose.

Fortunately, he was quickly able to make his return and knock down the ensuing free-throws.

Interestingly enough, George was awarded free-throws because officials punished DeRozan with a flagrant 1 foul for the hit.

The contact from DeMar DeRozan was clearly inadvertent as he was attempting to go up for a tough shot in the paint. Regardless, it appears the refs felt otherwise and rewarded the Clippers.

Los Angeles can now breathe a collective sigh of relief that the injury was not too serious. Paul George is already on a minutes restriction after making his return from a hamstring injury and the last thing they need is another setback.
