There has been nothing but optimism spewing from nearly everyone in or around the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason since the selection of rookie point guard Lonzo Ball.

According to Chris Ladd of Sumner Home Page, Lakers veteran forward Corey Brewer has chimed in with his own excitement about playing with the 19-year-old this upcoming season.

“I think it will be great playing with Lonzo,” Brewer said. “I make my living on the fast break and he is a great passer, hopefully we can score a lot of points this year.”

In his limited action in the Las Vegas Summer League, he performed at a high-level helping lead the Lakers to the championship game. Ball averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game that helped him become the first player in team history to earn the Summer League MVP award.

He showed much potential with his passing ability by continually finding teammates in both transition and half-court setting. This will fit in Brewer's skill set as he has operated effectively in transition throughout his career that could best utilize his length and athletic ability.

In fact, Ball's passing could have a major impact on the play of his teammates, that may turn the Lakers into one of the highest scoring teams in the league. This could have the making of an exciting 2017-18 season back in Los Angeles with Ball leading the charge.
