Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in the world. He has amazed fans both for PSG and for the French National Team. Now, with his contract expiring in the summer, there will be a major fight for him. PSG wants Mbappe to sign a new deal, but Spanish giants Real Madrid are knocking on the door. Thus, as Madrid's interest in Mbappe is clear, here are two reasons Kylian Mbappe should leave PSG for Real Madrid.

Reasons for Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid

Cement his status as one of the greatest ever

It is way too early to say whether Kylian Mbappe will go down in history as one of the greatest players ever. That group is very closed and is inhabited by players that have been absolute legends of the sport. Right now, Mbappe is 23 and while his resume is impressive, it is still not up there. However, if he was to join the biggest club on the planet, Real Madrid, he would be able to follow the steps of Cristiano Ronaldo, a player that is now widely considered as one of the greatest ever.

Now, Ronaldo played for Manchester United before joining Real Madrid, and United is already a huge club. However, if he did not join Los Blancos, it is doubtful whether he would still be considered as huge as he is. Ronaldo is Kylian Mbappe's idol and he has an opportunity to mimic his path. Interestingly enough, their careers could end up being fairly similar. At the point when Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009, the club did not win the Champions League in seven years, they were struggling in La Liga, and were nowhere near the status they should be at, due to their significance to the sport.

While they are set to win the La Liga title this year and did go to the semis of the Champions League last season, this Madrid outfit is nowhere near the strength it was in the Ronaldo years. Mbappe can change that. By changing that, he would be absolutely making a case to be one of the greatest players ever.

Of course, PSG has become a big club. They do not have the history of their rivals in Europe, or even of some in France, but their money was well invested and they are now the perennial favorites to win the Champions League for the past few years. However, similar to Manchester United and Ronaldo, winning at PSG is simply not the same as winning in Real Madrid. Sure, Ronaldo won a Champions League and a few EPL titles in Manchester, but his Real Madrid stint is the crux of his career. It can be a similar story for Kylian Mbappe, who did win a ton in PSG and in Monaco, but if he was to win with Real Madrid, that would be on another level, when it comes to his legacy.

Real Madrid has a better future

Although PSG has some young players, their team is virtually a win-now squad. They just added Lionel Messi in the past offseason and the majority of their squad is experienced, seasoned players that were brought there to bring the Champions League to the French capital. They brought in Sergio Ramos to lead from the back, and they already had guys like Marco Veratti, Angel Di Maria, and Neymar, who are all slowly getting up there in age. They do have young talents, such as the 22-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma, 23-year-old Achraf Hakimi, and 19-year-old Nuno Mendes. However, Real Madrid just seems better suited for the future, at least right now.

Madrid also has a ton of experienced players. Their midfield is led by Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, who are 32 and 36, respectively. David Alaba and Casemiro are soon to be 30, Karim Benzema is 34, and Thibaut Courtois will be 30 in June. However, key parts of their squad going forward are also fairly young. Vinicius Jr is just 21 years old, Eder Militao is 24, Federico Valverde is 23, Eduardo Camavinga is 19, Rodrygo is 21, and Miguel Gutierrez is 20. These are all guys that are expected to carry the team in the future, together with some talent from Real Madrid Castilla. It just works better with the 23-year-old Kylian Mbappe who could create a great partnership with Vinicius who is dominating this season.

Also, with recent reports suggesting that Real Madrid are the frontrunners to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, this front three might be historic. Mbappe being 23, Vinicius being 21, and Haaland being 21 as well, if they were to happen in Madrid and stick together, it could be the best attack ever assembled in football. Of course, this is just speculation and a million different things could happen, both with Haaland's transfer situation and Mbappe's contract situation, but it is still very interesting to think about, especially for Real Madrid fans.

When it comes down to brass tax, Kylian Mbappe will make his decision based on a ton of factors. There will be some financial ones, some legacy ones, and some ones that only he and his close team are aware of. However, if he wants to leave a real mark on soccer as a game and possibly get a chance to challenge Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, and Pele as the greatest ever, Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
