F1 and Red Bull boss Christian Horner comments on Lewis Hamilton and his fresh engine ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Of course, the new engine was quite evident for Hamilton as he had a searing pace, topping the other drivers by over four-tenths.

“No, we saw from this morning that Lewis was very, very strong,” the F1 pundit said.

“That fresh engine is obviously pumping out some horsepower for them. I think second was the best we could hope for as I said in the quali so to be up there on the front row, we are OK with that.”

Mercedes, in general, is known to perform well during F1 races in Brazil. Yet, Horner mentioned the apparent advantage of Hamilton over his teammate, Valtteri Bottas.

“It’s difficult for us to be able to predict that but if you look at the relative speed compared to Valtteri, it’s a couple of tenths,” Horner added.

“Let’s see in the race tomorrow. We’ve got a good race car. It’s going to get hotter through the weekend, the tyres are going to be a factor here, it’s obviously been pretty cool today. Let’s see in the race tomorrow.”

Max Verstappen is currently leading the championship race by 19 points above Hamilton. However, Horner may hope that the last four races serve him well, as Red Bull is only down a point against Mercedes in the F1 constructor's championship.
