Ex-F1 driver Ralf Schumacher reveals his verdict on the ongoing title race between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

While Verstappen only leads Hamilton by 8 points with just two races to go, Schumacher believes that their ages contribute to two different scenarios in this championship race.

“At the end of the day, Max can lose and still say to himself  ‘well, we were close, it just didn’t work out, but I still have enough time to try again’. That’s a bit different for Lewis. So from my view, more pressure is on him.”

Indeed the weight of this F1 season is genuinely different for both. For Hamilton, he is gunning for his eighth title, aiming to surpass Ralf's brother, the great Michael Schumacher. On the other hand, Verstappen is trying to mark his legacy by winning his first championship.

Schumacher does have a point. If Verstappen manages to fail in protecting his lead, he has so much time on his hands—all for garnering more success throughout his F1 career. At the same time, some consider that Hamilton is currently at the twilight of his career, even with the abundance of championships and records broken.

Will Hamilton break another record by winning his eighth title? Or will Verstappen thwart a herculean effort by the 34-year old?
