Salvador Perez was listed as day-to-day after missing the Kansas City Royals' June 22nd game against the Los Angeles Angels. However, it was unclear what the duration of the injury might be. But the Royals received very unfortunate news on Friday. Kansas City announced that the All-Star catcher would undergo UCL surgery on this thumb. He was placed on the 10-day IL as a result.
Salvador Perez will have surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament on his left thumb. He has been placed on the 10-day injured list and is expected to return this season.
