The clock hits midnight eventually and that is exactly what one bettor is counting on as he made a huge bet on the Gonzaga Bulldogs toppling the UCLA Bruins in their anticipated Final Four matchup.

$770,000 is a large amount, but Gonzaga is overwhelming favorites to come out on top. This helps put into perspective why someone would risk that much money for the chance to win less than 10% of it.

UCLA has been the most successful college basketball program in history with 11 titles in the NCAA Tournament. But, their road from the first four to here leaves them as underdogs against a brilliant Gonzaga squad who haven't lost all year.

In the Sweet 16, the Bruins had a convincing win against number two seed Alabama Crimson, 88-78. Yes, the Crimson Tide is more than just football and head coach Nick Saban. The game went into overtime and Alabama's 14 missed free throws proved to be costly.

Next, UCLA beat the one seed Michigan Wolverines in a tightly-contested match that finished 51-49. This proved to be one of the ugliest games in basketball with UCLA shooting 38.9% from the field and Michigan, 39.2%. Both teams also struggled from deep.

As expected, Gonzaga had a very different journey en route to the Final Four. They steamrolled past the Creighton Bluejays, 83-65 in the Sweet 16. Their Elite Eight contest versus the USC Trojans was more of the same as the Zags won, 85-66.

Undefeated Gonzaga is a very efficient team and is led by point guard Jalen Suggs, who is expected to be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft. In general, pushing the pace benefits the stronger team, since there will be more possessions and this is what the Bulldogs will look to do.
