2016 Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg weighs in on the difference between his former foes Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.

Despite being officially retired, Nico Rosberg is still one of the most talked-about Formula 1 simply because he remains the last driver to ever beat Mercedes talisman and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Modern day Formula 1 fans may not know but apart from Hamilton, Rosberg also battled the legendary Michael Schumacher on the race track. Evidently, he is well aware of how the pair work their magic on the wheel.

According to Rosberg, the main difference between Hamilton and Schumi was that the former was born with “natural” talent while the latter was more a hard work-pays off guy.

“Lewis is a natural, very instinctive. Michael was a workhorse, turned every stone in every area. Phenomenal,” the Finnish recalled via F1-Insider.

The 36-year-old also revealed that he was able to beat Hamilton because of his “mental” game. When asked was more difficult to deal with in terms of mind games, Rosberg said that both were great but it was the Brit who did it better.

“Michael also played mental games, but Lewis is even more clever politically and uses every opportunity for himself,” he divulged. “The one who reminds me of this mental warrior mentality of Lewis Hamilton here in Extreme E is our driver Johan Kristofferson. He's a real psycho-animal.”

The Hamilton-Schumacher comparisons will continue to be a hot subject in Formula 1. Bur for Hamilton, “what’s important is the journey” each of them faced en route to success.
