The New York Giants are a team desperately looking to put the 2017 NFL season behind them. The storied franchise won only three games last year with seemingly everything going wrong in New York.

However, the team was able to secure the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft which turned out to be Penn State star, Saquon Barkley. The rookie running back could be the next superstar-caliber talent in New York alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and is already getting comparisons to Hall of Famer, LaDainian Tomlinson. The Chargers legend was recently asked about the similarities and gave a surprising response, via SiriusXM.

“I’m honored that people do compare him to me, because you see the skill set,” Tomlinson recently told Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt on Late Hits. “You see that he’s a game-changing type of running back. So I believe Saquon will have no problem with his transition from college football into the National Football League. He’s a pro back, he’s ready.”

Comparisons like these happen all the time with talented young players coming into the NFL. Rarely does a Hall of Famer say something like this about a rookie which is a great sign for the Giants as they try to bounce back next season.

Barkley is a highly-touted back coming out of Penn State that appears to have a bright future in New York with a lot of people singing his praises even before he plays a single snap on the next level. He could be exactly what's missing for the offense as it will take the pressure off both Eli Manning and Beckham making the 2018 campaign interesting, to say the least for the Giants.
