The top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs were on the ropes at halftime of their second-round matchup against the Memphis Tigers on Saturday, trailing 41-31 at the break. That's when star Drew Timme delivered a passionate message to his team, which helped spark a massive second half to earn an 82-78 win and a spot in the Sweet 16 of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Timme had some choice words for his teammates after their lackluster first half, and he revealed the message he sent to CBS reporter Andy Katz after Gonzaga completed the comeback. Via ESPN's Kevin Pelton:

“I don't give a flying F what happens at the end of the game, whether we lose or win, we're not going out as no … soft guys.”

Timme talked the talk and walked the walk, scoring 21 of his game-high 25 points in a sterling second-half effort. The big man scored seven straight points after Gonzaga went down by 12 points early in the second half and also scored 14 of 16 Bulldogs points during one stretch to get them back in the game.

In addition to his big scoring performance, Timme grabbed 14 rebounds and handed out four assists. The Gonzaga star shot 10-of-16 from the field and also knocked down a 3-pointer.

Timme's big effort helped the Bulldogs reach the Sweet 16 for the seventh straight tournament. Gonzaga is trying to finally get over the hump to win that elusive NCAA title after losing twice in the National Championship Game (2017, 2021) in recent history.
