The Memphis Grizzlies took on the Miami Heat on Tuesday and ended the four-game winning streak of the South Beach squad, 124-112 with Dillon Brooks leading the way. The defeat dropped the Heat to 26-25 for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Of course, the secondary simmering storyline was that it was a chance for the Grizzlies to get revenge on Andre Iguodala, who famously refused to play a single minute for the team after being included in a salary-dump trade with the Golden State Warriors last season.

Iguodala’s refusal to even report to the Grizzlies stuck in the collective nerve of the Grizzlies, particularly Brooks and star sophomore Ja Morant. After their win over the Heat, both responded to the controversial holdout of Iguodala (via Grizzlies reporter Drew Hill).

Morant and Brooks were relatively tight-lipped regarding Iguodala, though they were clearly both pleased to have dashed the Heat’s winning streak with relative ease.

Brooks topscored for the Grizzlies with 28 points on 5-of-9 shooting from long distance. Morant, on the other hand, left the game early with an apparent hip injury, but the 21-year-old was still in good enough spirits to talk to the media and throw mild shade at the behavior of Iguodala. Morant finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 29 minutes.

The Grizzlies, who improved to 25-23, eventually traded the 36-year-old Iguodala last season, receiving in exchange a coveted young player in the form of Justise Winslow.

Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant proved Andre Iguodala wrong on Tuesday, and to them, that's what the Grizzlies are all about.
