As far as NBA memes go, it is without question that Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning's look of disbelief has become one of the most popular of all time.

This was a marvelously captured clip of Mourning, who seemed utterly disgusted about what was transpiring right in front of him before accepting the Miami Heat's fate:

Mourning himself recently spoke about the viral meme, admitting that he found the entire experience to be nothing but hilarious:

“I have gotten asked about that gif a lot,” Mourning told Meredith Cash of Business Insider. “It is very funny. It's hilarious to sit back and watch.”

The 49-year-old then went on to try to give an explanation of what exactly was going through his mind at that very moment and what caused such a priceless reaction from his end:

“I'd like to think I was actually talking to myself,” Mourning said. “It was actually kind of comical to see myself.

“Did you see the score?” Mourning asked. “If you look at the score of the game, you can see why I had that facial expression. I'm somebody that hates to lose. I don't like to lose in anything. Anything.”

To be clear, Mourning's Miami Heat were down 30 points against the Chicago Bulls when this clip was captured. This was during the Heat's opening game of the 2006-07 campaign, and to make matters worse, this was the very first game of their title defense.

Very few memes capture the very essence of disappointment as this one, so in this respect, we would like to send out our heartfelt appreciation to the legend, Alonzo Mourning, for his priceless contribution to the world of NBA memes.
