Now, Robinson has achieved 3-point shooting glory. The Heat swingman reached 700 made 3s in his career in record time, achieving it faster than Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.

Duncan Robinson has been one of the biggest benefactors of Stephen Curry and the Warriors' influence. Before, a team likely wouldn't have taken a serious look at Robinson. Today, though, he is one of the biggest pieces for a Heat team looking to contend for a title. His ability to stretch the floor and make shots from 3 make him a valuable commodity in today's NBA.

While it may be surprising to some that the Heat shooter eclipsed the greatest shooter of all time for a record, it's not that surprising. During the early years of Curry's career, he was not encouraged to shoot deep balls with regularity. It's because of Curry and the Warriors' 3-point boom in the mid-2010s that guys like Robinson had the green light to shoot today.

Still, that's not taking away from Robinson's insane record. For him to reach that record means he needed to have a blend of insane volume and accuracy. Looking at the Heat forward's stats, it's clear he has that mix down to a T. He's shooting 8.0 triples a game at a 36% clip, in what can be considered a down year for him. If he regains a fraction of his shooting from last year, we could see more broken records from him.
