Being the straight-shooter that he is, Jimmy Butler called out the entire Miami Heat following the team's 107-105 defeat against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. The loss dropped their record to 3-4 in the new season, which isn't exactly the blazing hot start expected from last year's runners-up.

Butler preached accountability after that two-point letdown and also claimed that he also needs to play much better to turn things around. Per Larry Brown Sports (via Brendan Toppin).

“There’s no excuses to not playing hard, not finishing possessions. We’re not playing the type of basketball that we say that we are, the culture that we say that we have. We ain’t doing that. Nobody is. Not me, not Bam (Adebayo), nobody. We’ve got to get back to that,” Butler said.

Jimmy Butler and the Heat were actually in a good position to win last night up until costly mistakes in the fourth doomed their chances. The 5-time All-Star actually did his part, tallying 26 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field along with eight boards, three assists, and three rejections in 33 minutes. His usually dependable supporting cast, however, figured in off nights and were outplayed by the C's amazing duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Miami certainly surprised a lot of teams during that overachieving season they had last year, overtaking East favorites Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks for that Finals berth. The Heat pretty much kept their core intact but has somehow regressed at the beginning of the new campaign. Jimmy Buckets, meanwhile, is no stranger to adversity. Hopefully, his latest comments will light a fire under his team in the upcoming games.

The Heat are confronting the reality of a two-month NBA offseason after the NBA Finals ended in October. The Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers did face relatively short turnaround times when measured against the rest of the league, but Jimmy Butler is not going to use that as an excuse at any point in this season.
