Jimmy Butler turned in a masterful performance on Friday night as the Miami Heat staved off elimination in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. Butler put on a show for the ages as he led his team to a season-saving 111-103 win, en route to forcing a do-or-die Game 7 on Sunday night.

Butler dropped a game-high 47 points in this one on 16-of-29 from the field, to go along with nine rebounds, eight assists, four steals, a block, and just one turnover in 46 minutes of action. The Heat superstar also went 4-of-8 from distance while also connecting on all 11 of his attempts from the charity stripe. Butler's highly-efficient performance now has him entering the territory of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant (h/t Talkin' NBA on Twitter)

Kobe Bryant & Jimmy Butler are the only two players in playoff history to have 3 games with at least 40 points & 1 or 0 turnovers in a single postseason.

Just to be mentioned in the same breath as Kobe is an ultimate honor for Butler, and I'm pretty sure that the Heat talisman would agree.

Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra had nothing but praise for Butler after he saved the day for the Heat:

β€œHe was just extremely efficient and fundamental. I think that’s one of the most underrated parts of his game,” coach Spo said.

Spoelstra hit the nail on the head here and the fact that Butler just matched a Kobe Bryant record serves as a clear testament to this fact.
