Goran Dragic had plenty of options in free agency, but he knew he had to return to the Miami Heat due to a hilarious threat from Jimmy Butler. Ahead of the regular season, Butler and Dragic revealed what he told Dragic the veteran point guard before re-signed with the Heat this offseason, per Rohan Nadkarni of Sports Illustrated.

“He said, ‘You better sign with the Heat. If not, I know where you live. I’m going to hunt you down. And I’m going to beat you up,’ ” Dragic recalls with a chuckle, via Rohan Nadkarni of Sports Illustrated.

Butler also shared what he told Dragic to convince him to return to South Beach for the foreseeable future.

“I said, ‘G, we got to run this back, or I’m going to punch you in your head,’ ” Butler recalls with no hint of a smile.

At the beginning of free agency, Dragic uttered that Butler was doing everything he could to keep him in Miami. Dragic said that Butler humorously threatened him, saying the situation could have gotten violent.

It didn't take Dragic long to put pen to paper once free agency began as he signed a two-year, $37.4 million deal literally minutes after free agency got underway. Dragic likely realized that returning to the Heat gives him a prime opportunity to get another chance to reach the NBA Finals.

In just one season, Butler and Dragic forged a special relationship on and off of the court. While Dragic made out favorably with his new contract, he also got to avoid any future altercation with Butler.
