Kyle Lowry is now ready to get to work with the Miami Heat after agreeing to a three-year deal worth $85 million. Lowry still chose the Heat despite a $90 million dollar offer from the Dallas Mavericks because he wants to play with good friend Jimmy Butler.

The Heat were already hotly pursuing Lowry during the trade deadline last season. But team president Pat Riley got cold feet. Now, he finally got his guy. Lowry, however, revealed that Butler has been trying to lure him for years now (via Heavy).

“He kind of was continuing to chirp about it and talk to me about it. But as a true friend, it doesn’t matter what decision I made, he was going to support me. But he was really on me about coming to the Heat and kind of fulfilling some things that we talked about before and trying to possibly play together.”

As they say, good things take time. Despite not being as young as before, the 35-year-old Lowry and the 31-year-old Butler can still play with the best of 'em. The two dogged competitors, who take pride in their work ethic and leadership, should only bode well for the Heat. In fact, when Lowry was asked to describe how practices will be with Butler, he only uttered one word.

“Fiery.”

Well, that should fire up Heat fans even more.

With Kyle Lowry finally on board to help fellow All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, expect the Heat to get cooking again in the Eastern Conference.
