The Miami Heat offseason started on a brutally honest note. Team president Pat Riley said that Kyle Lowry has to get in better shape this offseason. It seems like the 36-year-old has accepted the challenge, as he appears to be in very good shape.

In a photo that was originally shared by trainer Travis Wallace, Kyle Lowry looks slimmer and his arms look more defined. This is great news for the Heat.

Kyle Lowry's physique has always been a key part of the conversation around him. His thick build has been used to his advantage throughout his career on both ends of the floor. But as the six-time All-Star continues to age, it's clear that a more slender frame can help him extend his career and help Miami try to get back to the NBA Finals.

In his first season with the Heat, Lowry averaged 13.4 points, 7.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from deep. His playmaking and ability to push the pace were beneficial to Miami. As he continues to age, getting more agile and carrying less weight will be key.

The Heat will need Kyle Lowry to be in tip-top shape this season. After losing in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the team needs their floor general to be at his best. His shooting and scoring abilities took a hit in the postseason. In order for the Heat to navigate back to the Finals, that can't happen. Fortunately, Lowry looks to be in fantastic shape.

As the Heat look to contend for the title with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry, they are exploring trades for Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Durant.
