After clinching the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat are considered one of the strong contenders to go all the way this season. As it turns out, however, the squad took a bit of time off right before the playoffs as they celebrated their strong finish in the regular season.

According to team insider Barry Jackson, several players from the roster decided to blow off some steam by going on vacation right in the middle of their preparations for the playoffs:

Bunch of Heat players took a bonding trip to the Bahamas in past couple of days before resuming practice today. Team did not pay for trip; the players did this on their own.

It sounds like the Heat gave their players some time off and the players decided to head to the warm beaches of the Bahamas for some much-needed R&R.

Tyler Herro was one of the players that took part in what was surely an epic trip and the Sixth Man of the Year frontrunner revealed how memorable the vacation was:

“When we look back after the season, the trip that we took to the Bahamas will be good for us,” Herro said.

That's not exactly the most common way for teams to prepare for a grueling playoff run. To each their own, I guess, and we should learn soon enough if this break will work in the favor of the Heat or not.
