Hours before Dwyane Wade's final home game as a member of the Miami Heat, the team is making a move. With just two games left to play in the regular season, the Heat are signing Duncan Robinson to a standard contract, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Robinson had been on a two-way contract, but is getting the bump up. The Heat did the same thing with Yante Maten, their other two-way player, on Sunday. Robinson's new deal is similar to the two-year, $3.1 million contract Maten just signed, according to Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

They also note that “Robinson’s contract includes significant guarantees early in the summer and trigger dates after which additional parts of salary become guaranteed.” It's a nice get for Robinson, the former Michigan star who went undrafted last June.
Robinson has played sparingly as a rookie, appearing in just 13 games so far, but the Heat apparently likes what they've seen. Robinson has been dominant in the G League when he hasn't been with the Heat, averaging 21.4 points per game while shooting 48.3 percent from three with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Miami's affiliate.
Robinson was a key piece of the Michigan team that made it to the national championship game last season. He has a great story, as he originally played Division III basketball out of high school. He dominated at that level, and soon transferred to Michigan. In the 13 games, he's appeared in this season, he's averaging 2.4 points and one rebound per game while shooting 34.4 percent from the floor.
