The Utah Jazz and the San Antonio Spurs played in a really competitive game on Monday night, with the Jazz winning the game 101-99.
According to Jazz reporter Andy Larsen, the outcome could have been a little different, with a few more fouls called that were missed.
Of course, there are always missed calls in every game, but the three missed calls on the Jazz really hurt the Spurs' chances to win the game.
According to the NBA's official report, with 48 seconds left in the game:
Anderson (SAS) draws Favors (UTA) into the air towards him with a pump fake. Favors lands on Anderson's foot, affecting his shooting motion.
That would have given Anderson a chance to make free throws at the line and could have easily changed the outcome of the game.
The biggest missed call though came at the end of the game. The Spurs had the ball down two with a chance to win tie or win the game.
RATR shows Ingles (UTA) initiates contact to Ginobili's (SAS) back, extending his arms and dislodging him as he retrieves the loose ball.
That would have sent Ginobili to the line with a chance to tie the game with about two seconds left. Instead, he fumbled the ball out of bounds, time expired, and the Spurs were left with a loss.
It's hard to blame a loss on the officials because there are always missed calls all throughout the game that could have changed who won or lost a game, but when a call is missed on the last play of the game, that one really seems to hurt.
