On Saturday, the Utah Jazz got a much needed victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of their opening round playoff series, 100-99. In the closing seconds of the game, Jazz center Rudy Gobert threw down an alley-oop for the game-winning basket. After the game, Gobert was interviewed on court live on television and had a shocking announcement.
“Fu** the talk,” Gobert said. “We are trying to be the best team we can be. We try to enjoy the moment and whatever happens, happens.”
It's certainly not very often you see an athlete dropping ‘F' bombs on national television during an interview. The NBA clearly was not very pleased and handed down their fine on Sunday afternoon to the Jazz center.

The NBA Communications team tweeted out the announcement. “Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been fined $25,000 for using profane language during a live television interview, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations. Gobert made his comments during an on-court interview at the conclusion of the Jazz' 100-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series on April 23 at Vivint Arena.”
The Jazz big man certainly has a way to garner attention around a microphone. He was the player that was the center of the controversy when COVID-19 first exploded across the nation. Video of him jokingly putting his hands all around the microphone during an interview blew up in his face once he tested positive for the disease.
The Jazz head back to Dallas for Game 5 of their western conference series on Monday night.
