The New York Knicks are on Anthony Davis' list of preferred destinations as he seeks a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans, and at All-Star Weekend, the superstar explained why:

“It’s a great franchise,” said Davis, according to Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News. “Playing in obviously the Garden, the city. But obviously Milwaukee is on that list, too.”

Davis also said that he is basically open to playing anywhere as long as he has a shot to win:

“Big market, small market. It doesn’t matter,” he said. “I’m focused on winning on this point of my career and wherever that may be.”

The Knicks are considered to be one of the top trading partners for the Pelicans this summer, given the fact that New York has a great chance of earning a top three overall selection in the NBA Draft.

Not only that, but the Knicks may very well end up with the No. 1 pick, which would provide New Orleans with the chance to draft Duke's Zion Williamson if it takes New York's offer.

Of course, a lot would still need to happen for the Knicks to reach that point, as they basically have to win the draft lottery in order to present a truly viable trade package to the Pelicans.

By sending Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks, New York now only has young players such as Mitchell Robinson, Kevin Knox and Allonzo Trier to use in a potential Davis trade, which is probably not enough without the benefit of the No. 1 pick.
