New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley isn't impressed with the roster that the Knickerbockers have built this offseason.

The Knicks struck out in signing top targets Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency, forcing them to settle for mid-tier free agents. Bobby Portis and Julius Randle, perhaps, are their biggest acquisitions of the offseason that started with high hopes.

New York also signed the likes of Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Wayne Ellington and Elfrid Payton to add to their young roster headlined by Dennis Smith Jr., Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson and promising rookie swingman RJ Barrett.

While the team doesn't look that bad considering the talent they have, Oakley isn't convinced that the roster can contend and get the Knicks out of mediocrity. He emphasized that they have no A-level player and that the team is composed mostly of C-level players.

Oakley has long criticized the Knicks for their inability to land top-class free agents. He has an ongoing feud with team owner James Dolan, and he continues to insist that Dolan is the root cause of their dysfunction.

The Knicks can only hope for the best heading to the 2019-20 season. They are a young team with plenty of potential, and it could be the perfect opportunity for someone in their roster to step up and elevate himself to stardom.
