New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale will have Julius Randle at his disposal starting this season. From his perspective — given that the team has lots of versatile players — Fizdale is open to placing Randle at the center position.

According to Fizdale, putting Randle at the five will create pressure on the opposing side's defense. He'll likely play the former Kentucky big man alongside Marcus Morris at the frontcourt.

“Absolutely …. You guys like to put (positional) numbers on these guys. I just like to put them out there. Now this year I feel like we've got so much versatility I can mix in different lineups,” he said, per Ian Begley of sny.tv. “But if you want to say position-wise he's a five, I can put him out there with Marcus Morris at the four and put a lot of pressure on a defense that way.”

Randle is considered one of the bulkiest and heftiest players in the league. He has a massive 6-foot-9, 250-pound frame coupled with the mobility of a small forward. Last year can be considered his breakout year. as he put up a career-best 21.4 points per game to go along with 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists across 30.6 minutes. He also shot 52.4 percent from the field.

His signing with the struggling Knicks squad can be considered as one of the most underrated deals of the summer. Under Fizdale's guidance, Randle has a good chance of reaching his full potential.
