Tom Thibodeau is currently the front-runner to land the vacant New York Knicks head coaching job. However, there are still a number of big names still in the running, and according to Knicks team insider Ian Begley, a reunion might just be in line for former coach Mike Woodson.

Here is Begley's tweet about Woodson's potential return:

Woodson spent a total of three seasons as the head coach of New York between 2011 and 2014. During this span, he amassed a relatively impressive 109-79 win-loss record, which is good for a .580 winning percentage. Woodson was even awarded as the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month in April of 2013.

Woodson led the Knicks to the playoffs in two out of his three seasons with the team, including a trip to the second round in 2013. New York parted ways with Woodson towards the latter end of the 2013-14 season, and he has since been unable to secure a new post as a head coach of any NBA team.

Woodson's luck might change in the near future, with New York reportedly looking to interview the 62-year-old for their opening. He will need to contend with a number of other prominent candidates, though, so this is by no means a sure thing for Woodson. Then again, the fact that he has history with the organization might just work in his favor.

Woodson may not exactly be the first choice of the Knicks faithful, but he might just prove to be the right man fr the job this time around.
