ESPN NBA analyst and close friend of Kevin Durant Jay Williams says he “never heard” the two-time Finals MVP talk about New York Knicks owner James Dolan.

Durant signed with the Brooklyn Nets instead of the Knicks, sparking speculations around the league that Dolan's presence might have impacted Duran't decision to join Brooklyn.

However, Williams says at the end of the day, KD just wants to play basketball in the best environment for him.

“I never heard Kevin speak about Jim Dolan. Kevin loves to focus on basketball,” Jay Williams said, via Marc Berman of The New York Post. “He’s a basketball savant. What’s the best place for me to hoop? Expectations were set high by Dolan on [Michael Kay’s] show. But they’re doing it the right way. Keep expectations low and keep building.”

The Knicks didn't even get a meeting with Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving. Both All-Stars agreed to four-year deals with the Nets on the first day of free agency.

The Knicks have been a walking disaster under James Dolan. The fact that New York, who had cap space to sign two max players, couldn't even get a meeting with KD or Irving shows the allure of playing in MSG is gone.
