Earlier in the season, many fans have been hyped up by the rise of the New York Knicks as the team hovered over the .500 mark. But the Knicks current record is 19-24, a .442 win percentage.

It seems that the Knicks are having trouble closing out games, especially in the second half. This is particularly evident in their recent game with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Early in the second half, Pelicans star Anthony Davis made a wide-open jump shot, infuriating head coach Jeff Hornacek, who pointed out his players' sloppy play.

Per Zach Braziller of the New York Post

“We might have to change lineups going into the second half or something, because we come out there lackadaisically, like, ‘Oh, we're just playing a game.' You can't play like that. Anthony Davis is one of the best players in this league, and they throw it back to him, and we allow him to shoot an 18-footer. Like you think he's going to miss it?”

The Knicks led by as much as 19 points but ended up having an overtime with the Davis-led Pelicans. The Knicks ended up losing the game by five points.

After the game, Hornacek has not been afraid to show his frustration toward his players.

The Knicks were led by Kristaps Porzingis with 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the game. But he can't do everything on his own, other players needed to step up to avoid losing games that they already control.

On the other hand, Davis exploded for 48 points, 17 rebounds, and four steals on the night.
