After the New York Knicks suffered their fourth straight loss at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, rookie small forward Kevin Knox admitted that the losing has started to take its toll.

The Hawks were clearly determined to get a win amidst their underwhelming 2018-19 NBA season. Kevin Knox says the Knicks are also desperate to do the same.

“These teams are desperate to get wins just like we're desperate to get wins,” Knox told the Associated Press, via ESPN. “You could just tell in that second half they came out to try and win the game and we come out a little sluggish. They come out with a certain type of energy that we just don't respond to.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Knox's comments, and this was extremely evident during their loss to the Hawks. New York had gotten off to a hot start after scoring 39 points in the first quarter, but they failed to build on their momentum and made just 38 points in the entire second half. This made it much easier for Atlanta to mount their comeback.

Despite the Knicks' struggles, Knox has emerged as one of the bright young stars in the league. While his rookie started roughly, he has managed to kick things up a notch ever since his breakout performance versus the Charlotte Hornets in early December. He has since averaged 20.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Although Knox has started to produce solid numbers individually, it is clear that the Knicks need to find a way to get back into the win column.
