New York Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis is trying to disprove the rumor that he is behind schedule in his road to recovery from his torn ACL. The 23-year-old appeared to have taken exception to the report of his slow recovery and has posted a couple of photos of himself sprinting to refute the claim:

An earlier report stated that Kristaps Porzingis was limited to shooting and jogging, and that sprinting was not yet part of his routine. Well, unless this is some sort of fake/manipulated photo from Porzingis himself, this just blows this report out of the water.

Despite the welcome development, though, the Knicks are still unable to provide a firm timetable on their cornerstone star's return to the court. While January was initially identified as a potential target date for Porzingis' debut, it now appears that the team is exploring the possibility of having him sit out the entire season.

It has been a tough past few months for the Latvian sensation as the particulars of his comeback remain unsure. The Knicks also recently declined to extend Porzingis' rookie-scale deal and have effectively allowed him to become a restricted free agent next summer. The Knicks have no intentions of letting their superstar walk away, but they are erring one the side of caution (and money) here with so much uncertainty surrounding his injury.

The good new for Kristaps Porzingis is that he is still just 23. This injury may cost him a season and a half at most, but his body should still be able to recover from the ACL surgery. He still has the rest of his career to establish himself as one of the best big men in the league.
