Sophomore center Mitchell Robinson started six of his first seven games with the New York Knicks this season. After missing three straight games due to concussion, Robinson came off the bench in his return game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Knicks head coach David Fizdale suggested that he will keep the promising big man as a reserve as he reportedly like Robinson's pairing with Dennis Smith Jr., via Mark Berman of The New York Post.

Despite coming off the bench, Robinson helped the Knicks get their third win of the season against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday. Robinson scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting. He added eight rebounds and one block in his 22 minutes of action.

The DSJ-Mitch Rob combo worked well, as the both of them played arguably their best games of the season alongside each other. Smith Jr., who recently came back to the team, notched 13 points, six rebounds, and eight assists in the win.

There were plenty of side eyes going the way of the Knicks front office this past week when Steve Mills and Scott Perry expressed, through the media, their disappointment with how the team is performing to start the season.

Many believed that Mills did what he did in an effort to plant the seeds of an eventual David Fizdale firing. Nevertheless, those heating up rumors died down a bit when New York spoiled Kristaps Porzingis' return to MSG with a massive home victory.

If the Knicks continue to find success with this DSJ-Robinson combo, perhaps Fizdale might just make it through the entire season.
