The New York Knicks traded big man Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 31, 2019.

Since then, every team in the NBA has won at least 10 games except for one: the Knicks.

The Knicks have been the laughing stock of the NBA for years. New York had the worst record in the NBA last season and didn't even get the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Entering Thursday, the Knicks are 2-9. It's going to be yet another long season in The Big Apple.

Porzingis returns to Madison Square Garden on Thursday to face the Knicks as a member of the Mavs. He figures to get booed by the New York crowd since he requested a trade last season.

After missing out on stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency, the Knicks used their cap space on Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Wayne Ellington, Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock. That’s a lot of power forwards on one team.

It appears head coach David Fizdale is going to be the fall guy, even though RJ Barrett and Bobby Portis showed their support for Fizdale following New York’s 120-102 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

At this point, it doesn’t matter who is coaching the Knicks. Their roster just isn’t good enough to compete and ownership is toxic with James Dolan running the show.
