After picking up the win over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, the New York Knicks are now over .500 for the first time since the 2012-13 season heading into the All-Star Break.

Per ESPN, the aforementioned season is the last time the Knicks made the playoffs. Will they be able to mirror that success this year?

As seen in the photo, the last time they made the playoffs, NBA icon Carmelo Anthony was still donning the legendary Knicks jersey.

They had a veteran-laden roster that featured the likes of Tyson Chandler, Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby, as well as JR Smith who was crowned Sixth Man of the Year that season. In the playoffs, they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals but lost to Paul George and the Indiana Pacers in six games.

The current Knicks have won seven of their last 10 games. Their roster is a bit different as it is filled with young and up-and-coming players. Julius Randle, who's been selected into his first All-Star game, is the Knicks franchise star.

Surrounding him are a bunch of young guns like RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley. They're being guided by veteran guard Austin Rivers and former MVP Derrick Rose. And of course, there's head coach Thibodeau who seems to be the magic piece to the puzzle.

It's a long season and a lot can still happen. But analysts have been showing the Knicks some love for their exciting playstyle. Of course the Knicks fans, too, have been giving their full support to their home team. And so far, it's been paying off.
